Arbour Vale School,, Berkshire

Working with the school and with sponsors we designed and oversaw the transformation of this previously bleak and under-utilized outdoor space adjacent to the classroom.

The multi-sensory garden provides stimulating outdoor play and educational facility for pupils, many of whom are severely  handicapped and unable to enjoy traditional play equipment and facilities.

Different textured materials underfoot help the children navigate the garden

Raised beds

Edible, aromatic, tactile and scented plants help the children interact with the garden

Specialist swing and soft surfaces, surrounded by jungle foliage plants

Meandering walks and a small lavender maze through the garden
